Hello, today I replaced my battery in my macbook because it wasn’t very good. I started the calibration process, charged it to 100% + 2h and wanted to unplug the powercord, but it shutdown. its starting to boot up when replugged without pressing power button. I’ve reseted smc and nvram pram, on battery status it shows battery cycles 1 and ifixit as manufacturer etc. EDIT 1: Added coconut Battery screenshot
SMC is still reporting the Manufacture Date of the original battery. Let’s see if we can get it to reset as I’m suspecting not all of the old batteries data got cleared within SMC. Carefully, disconnect the battery and with nothing else connected press and hold the power button for a good 15 secs so you can fully discharge the logic board (use a few books to support the system so the battery connector is not crushed), Then with the battery still disconnected, plug in the MagSafe charger the system should spontaneously startup. Allow it to fully start and do a proper shutdowns, now plug the battery back in. Restart the system again and this time run it a good five minutes letting the system gather its thoughts ;-} Now take a fresh CoconutBattery snapshot did it update with a 2022 date?
