I want to make sure the iPhone 6 battery is the same spec as the new iPhone battery from Apple. I don’t want to have the same issues with the processor throttling if I get this battery vs an apple OEM.
After a little digging: The specs for the iFixit Battery are on the site: iPhone 6 Battery 3.8 V - 1810 mAh - 6.91 Wh - and from the instruction photos the Apple Battery I found- 3.82 V - 6.91 Whr. Looks pretty good and answered my own questions.
Then take it into Apple and have it replaced for $29. The $29 price was instituted after Apple got caught throttling.
It’s unfortunately impossible to tell without testing the battery data from the gas gauge. The specs of the cell mean nothing compared to what is reported to the device. The market is absolutely flooded with bad gas gauge data on good cells (iFixit is unfortunately not immune, but they have a good track record). We hope to change this with a project we are developing, but right now, your best bet is a pull from an original device, and not a 0 cycle/new battery.
