I replaced my battery in my late 2012 using a battery from ifixit. The install was straight forward and there were no issues. When I booted up it seems like the enter button is being constantly pressed. I uninstalled and reinstalled the battery and the issue was still there. Finally, I installed the old batter and the issue is still there. I don’t believe I damaged anything during my install, it really did seem straight forward. Does any one have any ideas on how to resolve this?
Check around the battery connector to see if you damaged or chipped any components off. Or just check unde the enter key to see if something got stuck under it, like a screw. Clean the board too with compressed air just to be sure.
Replacing keyboard is doable, you can purchase a replacement for $30ish, slide the ribbon cable from the new part in to test, if it clears up the issue you can follow the instructions in our video to replace.
