MacBook pro shut down suddenly while on battery, could not (re)start. I tried SMC but no results. The macbook will not work on battery, as soon as I take the adaptor it shuts down. So you need a new battery (any battery of that vintage that has more than 300 cycles is on borrowed time) should a new batter not charge then you’ll need a new - DC in board. Remember to return and mark accepted the answer that best solves your problem.
