Hi! I recently noticed that my battery indicator on the left side of my MacBook Pro Mid 2012 13 Inch Unibody is no longer working. But my computer works fine with or without the charger plugged in, although it says in the battery icon on my computer that I need to replace my battery. Downloaded coconutBattery and I’m attaching the actual screenshot of the moment when I write this and post it to iFixit forums. What can it be?

Try resetting the SMC. Follow this Apple T/N: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac see what happens then. Update (02/10/2016) Well, you’ll need to check your sleep sensor/battery indicator connector to make sure its connected on the logic board. Review this image: Lifting the sleep sensor/battery indicator connector. If it is firmly seated you’ll likely need to replace it. Follow this IFIXIT guide to gain access to it: MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2012 Upper Case Replacement. Follow Steps 1 thru 4, then jump down to Step 14, then jump to Step 20. At which point you have access to the 2 screws that hold the part. Lastly, here’s the Apple part info: Sleep Sensor/Battery Indicator Light 922-9523
