I replaced the dock assembly in an iPhone 6 about half a year ago and the battery started to drain a lot faster after that. I’m sure my replacement part was from a 3rd party and not a genuine Apple part but will that possibly drain the battery more? The phone is stock on iOS 11.3.1 and my dad just use it for a few phone calls and leaves it connected to the WiFi at home and he does not have cellular data. He usually charges every other day but now he has to charge by the end of the day. Or is it possible that I shorted a circuit that can cause a similar issue? Thanks

All batteries get bad with time, no matter what one does. With aftermarket batteries one can experience unjustified drain even after a few months, sometimes right from the beginning. If you had installed a faulty dock you would have probably experienced the issue from day 1. Plug your iPhone in a PC and check with Coconut battery on Mac or 3UTools on PC what’s the battery condition.
