Hello, I’ve been experiencing battery problems for several months. My battery has recently begun to be drain without any use, especially at night and to melt like snow under summer sun during normal use. I first thought of a battery worn out by the years, indeed my iPhone 7 Plus at about 4-5 years old, and in the “battery” menu the capacity was 75%. So I made a replacement but despite this, the problem persists identically. The capacity of the new battery in the “battery” menu displays 100%, the autonomy still seems better than before, and since the problem is identical in every way I do not think the battery I received is defective, would take a !&&* of a lack of luck to come across a battery that has exactly the same defects as the previous one (although not impossible)…. Another problem I spotted last night, By wanting to connect my iPhone to coconut battery, my iPhone is no longer recognized by any of my Macs, I had not realized it until now because I have synchronized my iPhone entirely to wifi for years, and so I can’t say if the 2 problems appeared at the same time. So I wonder if the lightning connector could be at fault, maybe a short circuit somewhere that drains the battery permanently? Is this possible? Replacing the Lightning connector flex cable seem very complex, so I would preferred to avoid changing it for nothing. If someone could give me their opinion on the issue, it would help me a lot. (I also attach a screenshot of the battery menu). Thank you in advance.
It is certainly a possibility. You’re correct, changing that flex is an awful lot of work. I might also just check that there isn’t any lint or debris in the lightning port itself. But excepting that, I suspect a new lightning dock would be a good start. It could be something else entirely, but I would recommend ruling that out before anything else. Especially being that it isn’t recognized by any of your Macs.
