Hello. Hope you are all doing well. My question before I buy a new cable is: I just get a replacement battery for my MacBook Pro A1708. When putting the machine back together I noticed I have misplaced my battery daughter board cable. ( the small one over the battery connector )

What function do this cable have? Symptoms on the Mac is not detecting the new battery. Is that related to this cable ? Thank you and best regards Truls Solberg

@truls75, Hi there, a name like yours must surely make you a fellow Norwegian, or at the very least Scandinavian 🤗 The battery data cable is what identifies the battery to the logic board, and is necessary for correct operation. Luckily, iFixit has it in their store, but they’ve only got 5 left. I’d help you out and ship one locally, but I don’t have much MacBook stuff lying around 😔
