Newish Macbook Air, got water in it… I removed battery to try to save it… put it back in to test (didn’t screw batt down) and when I took the bottom cover back off battery slipped and tore connector off logic board. Am I completely screwed? Logic board may be short anyway as even w some alcohol clean up and the power coming back to the fan I didn’t get it to start… still now I have a NEW problem… I read an earlier answer which didn’t sound very helpful to me as an amateur but was looking for other help…
It depends on the extent of the damage, hard to tell without seeing what the conditions are, however if the solder pads are still present on the logic board surface the connector can be resoldered back in place. If on the contrary pads have been teared off taking away traces it’s gonna be a challenging fix, if possible at all.
The people on here are not the wisest sometimes, so here’s the truth. YES it is fixable by someone who does logic board repair. Even if pads were ripped it’s still easily fixable. Send it to someone who can repair logic boards such as Louis Rossmann, TCRS Circuit, or even our business at Device Pro Solutions. We all have the tools and skills to fix it easily
