Hi, While changing my lightening connector on my iPhone 5c, I ripped the black film that is wrapping the battery on 1 inch. I didn’t damage the cells (I think, No smoke).
I wanted to know If I can still use the battery. Just like that, Should I wrapped it in something? Or should I just change the battery? Thank you all!
The battery will most likely work fine as it is for now. The risk is if it goes bad and leaks it could quickly corrode other parts. It’s a risk I wouldn’t want to take.
It would be helpful to have a picture, but maybe putting some black electrical tape on it would do.
Maybe a battery expert would have a better answer, but with all the battery problems we see on the news, I wouldn’t take any chances to burn myself or broke my phone. A defective battery is really dangerous and can blow up at anytime.
For the prices of the battery not worth causing damage to the phone, buy a new battery.
