Macbook had bad logic board, which I’d changed over the weekend. Booted up fine twice yesterday as I tested the unit. But today, there’s no response whatsoever when I press the power button. I removed the top case to inspect my work and found the wire to the reed switch hanging on by a thread. In fact, it easily broke off completely from the reed switch as I handled it. Is this the cause of my laptop’s dead condition? Update Yes, the power is really off. I’ve reseated the keyboard cable twice already, still no go. Sigh.

Press the Caps Lock and if it lights up, then it’s asleep. This sounds more like a keyboard to logic board cable problem and the cable may need to be reseated.
