I took my iPhone in a lake a while ago, put it in rice, and tried to turn it on. It didn’t work, so I ordered a battery from here, and it started working again. The only problem was the LCD backscreen was very very dim. I’m wondering how I can fix this problem.
Before you do anything else please follow the ifixit water damage guide. Electronics Water Damage
Put the phone’s logicboard in IPA, this removes any corrosion and may even fix this If that dosen’t fix it, you will need a LCD/digitizer assembly The backlight is in the screen, there is also a small chip that shorts sometimes and will need to be replaced, so look for a burnt or shorted chip under the shields, in fact, remove them for the IPA cleaning Want more info? http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/archive/…
