I have the exact same computer and issue as Alexia Soria (August 12, 2013). I have followed your recommended steps up to #9 (replace inverter board), but the recommended part number (922-8280) is for the A1181, not the A1278, according to the vendor. Do I even have an inverter board? Macbook S/N W8906UEV1AQ. Frustrated. Been without my macbook for 3 months. Replaced LCD and LCD cable (3 times!) Can you help? Update Can’t seem to free the logic board from the hinge area. Rubber capped wire won’t release. Is the backlight fuse anywhere on the top of the board by chance?
Update Never mind. I found it! Now, how do I test the fuse and/or replace it? It’s sooooo small.
I did it! All by myself! I removed the logic board, located the fuse, cleaned the board with alcohol, and dropped a drop of solder on the fuse. Everything is working!
