I replaced the back glass and battery on my iphone 8 plus and now one of the camera lenses on the back stopped working. The slow motions lens works fine but the photo/video lens doesn’t seem to work as the screen goes black rather than showing a picture etc. I have tried another back camera but same issue happens. Is there something damaged on the board? has anyone come across this before! TIA
If a replacement camera had the same issue, then the problem is probably logic board related. When removing the connectors, it is possible to accidentally dislodged tiny components that surround the connector. Some of these are critical to the proper operation of the camera. Do a thorough optical inspection, preferably with magnification to see if anything is wrong. You could also have the phone examined by a micro-soldering tech as they have access to microscopes and the knowledge to properly diagnose these kinds of issues.
