Please help I have a 2006 Nissan primera automatic smell of burning car went into limp mode and has no reverse help.
Check the fluid level in the transmission .Is there any obvious oil leakage . Sounds like your transmission oil cooler line sprung a leak and is burning oil off the exhaust. This would account for the burning smell and also the transmission going into limp mode . Don’t drive it if the fluid level is low!
Yikes sounds like a burnt out gear box to me, get a mech to check it out dont drive it anymore untill then
