My tv vizio d55-f2 audio cuts out for a short second or sometimes even ten seconds or longer. Usually it comes back. I already tried checking if the audio problem persisted on hdmi sources like the PlayStation and the red and white audio connected to a surround and also just checking the tv speakers themselves. All emit the problem so I determined the main board need replacement. Upon replacement in just 2 days the problem slowly showed up again. I finally took it to a repairman and he replaced the audio chip on the main board. Just recently got it back, he said it’s working now, and lo and behold the problem came right back. I hooked up the Nintendo switch and noticed the same audio problem was back. I don’t understand why this keeps happening and or how to fix this. Is there more parts in the board that can affect that problem? Also what are the odds that a new board had the exact problem? It’s all very strange. Can the tv just be defective to the point it can’t be fixed?
Hi @lui1222 , You say that you checked if the problem was on other HDMI sources, but have you checked, if possible, whether the problem is there when using either a Component or Composite video + audio signal source? Most cable boxes, dvd players etc etc offer this option as well as HDMI. This is only to check if it also has the problem or not because these inputs are an analogue signal and therefore the digital signal processor on the mainboard is not used as it is for HDMI signals. If it works OK when using analogue inputs, has the TV got the latest firmware installed? Check if there is a firmware update available as it might resolve the problem. Worth a try anyway.
