So this has happened, not quite sure what to do, I’ve ordered a new charger, but also want to know if I should be replacing the charger port? Is there someway to clean it or is it toast? I have found the instructions and parts here, I could do it, just wondering if I MUST….. The Surface RT is working but I don’t want to use it until I get this sorted out, I use it daily, but have other computers, will be going through withdrawal …. All help appreciated, thanks in advance.
Replace the charger and clean the contacts on the tablet with some alcohol and use #0000 steel wool (very fine) to remove anything that will not come off w/ the alcohol. Make sure the tablet is off if and when you use the steel wool. You could also use a plastic bristled brush. Nothing too abrasive.
The new charger hasn’t arrived yet! Bah!
