I’ve come to find out that pre-butterfly macbook keyboards have two types of hinges. I understand that the two types of keyboards have different hooks and thus the hinges are non-interchangable. But are the keycaps interchangable though? PS: Assuming all MacBook Air / Pro / Retina between 2011 and 2015 have the same two keyboard mechanisms.
