Long story short: I have a broken 2012 macbook air A1466, a repair shop told the previous owner that the Logic board had failed. Ive been looking about on ebay for a replacement board and noticed later years share the same model number, will these motherboads fit and work in a 2012 model? Cheers
No. 2012 models use a different trackpad, camera, I/O board & cable among other things. It also has a different logic board layout and number. Stick to the 2012 Airs
Comparing 2012 and 2015 A1466 logic boards, all cables connecting to them look identical, with just minor changes in positioning. Is it for sure it won’t work? Different trackpad, camera etc could be just a driver question.
