I don’t know if this is true or not, but I’ve been told that replacing a MacBook Pro battery with an after-market (generic) battery can damage the logic board. Of course the only people telling me this are the ones who work for Apple Service Centers. Does anyone know of any reason why a generic battery designed for a specific Mac model would pose a problem?
Hi Lee I have personally installed several aftermarket Macbook batteries and have not had any issues. The big difference between aftermarket and OEM is going to be with Li-Ion protection circuitry embedded into the battery. I would recommend you purchase from a seller with a good reputation. Best of luck!
