Hi I’ve tried everything as far as trouble shooting on my ATV. I am at the point of replacing my hard drive. If I replace my hard drive do I need to find any software to boot from or will it boot on its own?
You need to specially prepare the hard drive to install the AppleTV software; see the information on the AwkwardTV wiki or look for a service provider that replaces hard drives. (You might be able to talk them into just selling you the preformatted drive, if you can install it yourself.)
You have to copy all the data from the old hard drive to the new one so the apple tv will boot
