The title says it all, my Apple Remote keeps unpairing for some unknown reason. When it happens I have to manually unpair it on System Preferences then pair it again and it works fine. Later on - could be minutes, hours or days - it unpairs itself and I have to redo the pairing procedures all over again. We do have Apple TV upstairs with its own remote and I’m using my remote on my 2011 iMac 27" could it be that when some other person is using the Apple TV upstairs it has some sort of software priority over my iMac thus unpairing with my computer and pairing with Apple TV? But if so why nobody complained when I’m hopelessly trying to use the remote downstairs, wouldn’t it be changing channels upstairs if it’s paired with the Apple TV and I’m clicking every button out of frustration? I’m confused with this whole thing, anyone knows what’s going on? :P
Seems to have done the trick. If I pair it up it unpairs and stops working but if I pair it up then unpair soon after it does work as it should. There is probably some interference with the Apple TV and this might be the reason behind this all but I’m just glad it’s not making me insane anymore :P
If you are having intermittent but persistent disconnect issues, but the app is otherwise behaving normally, you may want to see if there are any possible sources of WiFi interference that may be interrupting the connection.
