I just ordered my iPhone 5S screen replacement and after reassembling the new screen to the phone ( which I’ve done multiple times successfully before) Apple logo would pop up for a split second and then disappear, the screen would then go blank but I could still see the backlight. If I removed the charger the phone would automatically shut off. So I took it apart to clean the connections with alcohol, including the battery connections…and this time when I plugged it in the battery charging image showed up and the phone turned on once it was at a high enough percent but the screen was still blank only the backlight was lit up. This time when I unplugged it from the charger it stayed on so I did a hard reset still nothing. Is it the screen possibly that is faulty? I just don’t see how that would be possible because the logos are appearing. I’m unsure of where to start next or if I should request a refund and return the screen or if it’s something else. Please take the time to answer because I’ve been going through !&&* with these phones and I really thought this time was going to work.
Lets get it figured out! It is always possible you received a faulty screen. I’ve had bad screens show very unusual behavior you wouldn’t ever think was screen related. I would first rule the screen out by testing a known good one. Even if you have a broken glass but good lcd original one I’d slap that one real quick and see what the phone does. Another option is always to restore the phone via iTunes but I would save that until after testing a good known screen. Some of these aftermarket screens have poor solder jobs and actually can run hot enough to short backlight components (very common on the iPhone 6 model). If a good known screen doesn’t fix the issue and restoring doesn’t you could’ve accidentally knocked off a backlight component such as a filter or cap. These are very tiny located near the lcd connector. I would definitely try a new screen first and go from there.
