Hello to everybody, the backlight of my iPhone 6 suddenly stopped working, while I was using it. If I point a flashlight at the screen, I can barely see and use it (the phone, except for the missing backlight, works perfectly), so the LCD and the digitizer are working perfectly. I bought a replacement backlight film and installed it behind the LCD but, after putting it all together, the phone shows the same problem as before. I connected the iPhone to iTunes which detected it, so I made a backup just in case. The morning the iPhone backlight stopped working, I should admit it fell to the ground. iFixit members, what do you think could be the problem? Do you think it is with the motherboard? Thank you all for helping me out! P.S. I’d like to add the phone is usable, I can see the User Interface, it’s just too dark because of the missing backlight.

Yes, a logic board issue would be a reasonable explanation if it landed on the ground, backlight is a high voltage rail that may burn components relatively easily with bad bumps, but a screen issue cannot be ruled out without trying a known good screen first.
